DON’T WAIT — FALL COLOR IS HAPPENING FAST!

Tucker County is bursting into color, and Columbus Day Weekend is shaping up to be PEAK fall color! The mountains are putting on one of their most spectacular shows of the year, with brilliant reds, oranges and golds filling the landscape.

This is the weekend to make your fall getaway! Book your stay, grab your camera and hit the road for breathtaking mountain views, scenic drives, hiking trails and small-town charm. All of the pictures in this blog were taken October 5 for real-time updates on our current autumn color.

Peak color has now moved from the highest elevations of Dolly Sods and Canaan Mountain. You can find great color from Blackwater Falls to Lindy Point and down into the Cheat River Valley.

Want to escape the leaf-peeping crowds? Head to Hendricks, Parsons and St. George along the banks of the Cheat River and the Allegheny Highlands Rail Trail, where you’ll find beautiful fall scenery, scenic views and plenty of room to explore.

The color is moving—so don’t wait!
