Do you have the grit to tackle the Revenge of the Rattlesnake? You don’t have to be fast, just tough. This is a 25 mile single loop backcountry race in the heart of Canaan. This is a fundraiser for Blackwater Bicycle Association. It starts in Davis and climbs up RT 32 to Plantation Trail and up Fire Trail 6. From there you ride Canaan Loop Rd (Forest Road 13) to Davis Trail (the Allegheny Trail) descending to Blackwater Falls State Park. Yellow Birch and the River Road Trail into Davis. Then a loop on the Expert Course to Moon Rocks and back. One big aid station at start of second half of race on the Moon Rocks loop at Camp 70 and a small one at Davis Trail. 2500ft of climbing and 2500ft of descending with lots of rock, mud and roots. Start of the race is at 10am at the Camp 70 trails(also the finish) Post race meal by SIRIANNI’S Pizza and FREE t-shirt are included in the race entry at the DAVIS CITY PARK.

We would like to thank the West Virginia Land Trust for use of the trails on the Yellow Creek Natural Area that includes the Moon Rocks. We thank the U.S. Forest Service for the permit to use Plantation, Fire Trail 6, and Davis Trail. We also want to thank the West Virginia DNR for use of their trails in Blackwater Falls and Little Canaan Wildlife Management Area. We also want to thank Blackwater Bikes for hosting the race and all the volunteers who helped with trail work and putting on the race.
