SUMMARY:Astronomy Weekend at Blackwater Falls State Park
DESCRIPTION:For 37 years\, the Kanawha Valley Astronomical Society along with Blackwater Falls State Park has offered Astronomy Weekend. The event this year will be September 18 – 19\, 2026. During the day\, guest speakers from West Virginia University\, Marshall University\, Shawnee State University\, NRAO (National Radio Astronomy Observatory) at Greenbank\, WV and many amateur astronomers give presentations to guests from beginner to advanced. In the evening\, they host star parties at the Harold Walters Nature Center under some of the darkest skies in West Virginia. The event finishes Saturday evening with raffle prize drawings.
