Tubing and Sledding
For more snowy excitement, take a ride down a powdery hill — groomed for maximum enjoyment and speed — on a sled or inner tube. Tucker County is one of the few winter destinations that offers both sledding and inner-tubing, which are two totally different experiences. Canaan Valley Resort’s multi-lane tube park is one of the largest in the Mid-Atlantic, and the sled run at Blackwater Falls State Park is the longest on the East Coast. Both are equipped with magic carpet lifts that whisks riders uphill, avoiding tiring treks. And if you need a break, sip some hot chocolate and warm up by outdoor fire pits.
