2024 Leaf Peeper’s Festival

The most anticipated festival of the year is now upon us!  The last full weekend of September on the mountain is reserved for Leaf Peeper’s Festival.  This year will be the 34^th event and held September 27 – 29 in Davis, West Virginia.

Leaf Peeper’s Kicks off Friday evening with live music on the main stage and inflatable rides   at the Davis Firehall.  Top the evening off with a kid-favorite Firemen’s Parade that shuts down Rt.32 so that firetrucks from across the region can light up the night and shower candy on the crowd.

Saturdays Octoberfest and the Run For It 5K Run 2K Walk fire up the crowd for a full day outside making the most of our wonderful September weather.  On the more mellow side of all things Leaf Peeper’s Festival, our craft show is full of original merchandise handmade and specifically selected for authenticity and originality.  No two vendors are alike!

Live music continues Saturday from morning until the final act begins at 3:00 p.m. with Pat O’Brien.  Enjoy craft beers under the Octoberfest tent or try mountain mead wine made just down the road in Dry Fork.  Outside vendors serve up delicious food and treats while merch can be found at every corner of the event site.

Round out Leaf Peeper’s Festival on Sunday for the annual car show that brings out classic cars to modern marvels.  Anyone can sign up and participate for a small fee.  Awards and trophies are given for several different categories and dash plaques for the first fifty participants registered.  The WV Appalachian Craft Show continues through Sunday afternoon as well.

Run For It 5k Run & 2K Walk

A big part of Leaf Peeper’s Weekend is Tucker County Foundations annual fundraising event that help support everything from libraries to scholarships to your favorite trail organization.  If you have never participated in a run/walk race, this is the perfect introductory event for all ages and abilities.

Choose a team, any team to support.  When signing up for the Run For It race, pick a team to join that has a cause worth running for.  In the end, teams will receive extra cash money not only by how well competitors on each team place but also by how many participants join together for their cause.
