The Best of Winter to Come
February 13, 2024Every February we find ourselves amid a misleading winter thaw. How quickly thoughts of spring rush in only to be dashed by reality. Winter ends March 19th and in Tucker County we can see significant snow into April. Davis, WV even received 20” on May 4, 2023!
The point is, there is still a lot of winter fun to be had between town and the ski resorts. Several events are slated to kick in over the next few weeks in Canaan Valley as we celebrate the end of another fantastic season. Whether you are competitive in nature or just along for the show, Tucker County has something for everyone.
Only one more three-day weekend left this winter. Make the most out of Presidents Day while taking advantage of live music, great skiing, family sledding, delicious eats, and enlightening art galleries without the stress of time.
Subaru owners are invited to Canaan Resort February 24th and 25th for Subaru Winterfest Weekend. You don’t have to own a Subaru to participate in all the activities, but you will have to for lift ticket discounts and preferred parking.
Canaan Resort fills their ski area lodge with West Virginia’s best breweries and cideries for a true brewski.

Spring all-mountain parties for skiers and snowboarders from Canaan Resort to Timberline Mountain. The pond skim has quickly become the crowd favorite along with freestyle competitions, all right in front of the lodge for perfect viewing.
