Little Canaan Wildlife Management Area
The 3,168 acres of “Little Canaan” wetland complex located near Davis provides countless opportunities for the hunting and fishing enthusiasts. Access this property from Camp Seventy Road as well as from State Route 32 to discover the wildlife lurking in the forested areas and the rippling Blackwater River. Scour the area for deer, bears, grouse, woodcocks, and turkey. Additionally, approximately three miles of the Blackwater River run through the WMA, providing fishing for trout, rock bass and other species. A physically challenged fishing pier is located on the Blackwater River with access from the Camp Seventy Road. Take to the trails for the day on foot or on your bike to experience the rest of the wilderness area. Follow the popular 3.8 mile Moon HooDoo Rocks Trail that leads you through spacious meadows, forests, and across rocky surfaces that challenge any hiker or biker that explores the trail. You can access this trail from Trials Road that connects a number of trail options.
