Winter Has Kicked Into Gear

Old man winter has been sticking around Canaan Valley since the New Year, and he is welcome!  The upcoming Martin Luther King Holiday looks very wintry.

After a sluggish start to Tucker County’s “ski season”, nature has taken over with cold temperatures and abundant natural snowfall of over 55 inches.  Nothing beats our Allegheny Mountains covered in smiles and fresh snow, enjoying the very best West Virginia has to offer.

If you want to shop it, we have it.  If you want to ski it, we’ve got it.  If you want to dance it, we’re all over it.  Tucker County all winter long.

Head to the Slopes

The calm winter brings is unique and magical in a way that resonates from being a child.  The sights are muted with greys, whites, and hemlock green, but accentuated with by colorful shops and stylish puffy jackets roaming Tucker County.  The sounds are silenced by snow piled abound while all that can be heard are gusts of wind blowing unabated from Canada.

A willing soul is all that is needed.  Tucker County caters to the first timers on the ski slopes just like we do seasoned veterans.  Inside advice on lessons is to call ahead and reserve your spot, it’s easy and makes for a less stressful experience.  Lessons are available for skiing, snowboarding, and cross country skiing.
