Breweries & Distilleries

Breweries

Born from the desire to create quality craft beer with clean Appalachian water, Mountain State Brewery and Stumptown Ales are the antithesis of micro-breweries in West Virginia. The breweries are conveniently located two miles from each other in Thomas and Davis, making tastings an all afternoon affair.

Distilleries

Distilled spirits or homemade wine are not new, as mountain folk have been practicing the craft for generations.  Today, the craft is legal and refined as two distilleries and a mead winery bring the taste and smells to you.  Set up a tour along with samplings from the men and women creating West Virginia’s native spirits.

History

Tucker County’s story began slowly when farmers and trappers were bold enough to venture into daunting rugged terrain. As time moved on coal and timber became the economic driver, and relics are found on display today in Davis and Thomas. The Civil War also found itself front and center at Corricks Ford in Parsons, WV where informative signage and walking paths take you back in time.
