Please join national touring act, House of Hamill, as they return to the Purple Fiddle stage
Their music is self-described as “upcycled Celtic folk” or “vintage vibes with a modern message”. The band includes Rose Baldino (fiddle and vocals), Brian Buchanan (fiddle, vocals, and guitar), and Caroline Browning (bass, mandolin, and piano). The trio tours nationally, performing at Celtic festivals and established folk venues.
The third House of Hamill album, “Folk Hero”, received strong support on the 2022 Folk-DJ charts, as well as from Celtic music podcasters. A new original single release, “Shine”, is planned for later this week.
Baldino relates, “We set out to write a song that might inspire women in the US and give them hope after a tough year. The song is meant for women in all phases of life. It’s about having the courage to strike out into new territory and find a community in which you’re valued.”
All three musicians also tour with the long-time Celtic rock band, Enter the Haggis, which means that House of Hamill is constantly on the road. Their 2023 schedule will lead them to at least 28 states and 3 countries, including hosting a sold-out musical bus tour through the west of Ireland in October. A repeat tour is in the works for April 2024.
Whether they’re ripping through a set of original jigs and reels, adding lush three-part harmonies into traditional folk ballads, or cracking up an audience with stories from the road, House of Hamill puts on a show that captivates audiences from the very first note.
“Their songs are always on the edge of traditional and innovation . . . their performances are electrifying”. – Sarah MacArthur, Highlander Radio
