The town of Parsons, named for the prominent landowner, Ward Parsons, who built the town in the late 1880s, boomed after the railroad’s arrival in 1888. He, along with others, successfully relocated the count seat from St. George to its current location. Today, Parsons thrives as a top outdoor recreation spot.
Parsons is home to the acclaimed bluegrass music festival, Pickin’ in Parsons. Save the date for this year’s festival on July 30 through August 3, 2024.
